The Bachelor’s Statistics Study Program originated as a specialization—the Statistics Interest Group—within the Mathematics Study Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), University of Mataram. Due to the growing interest in the field of statistics and the increasing societal demand for statistical experts, this specialization evolved into an independent study program within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Mataram. The Statistics Study Program was officially established in 2022, pursuant to the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 710/E/0/2022, dated September 26, 2022. The program admitted its first cohort of students for the 2023/2024 academic year and received “minimum accreditation” status from the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT), as stipulated in the Decree of the Director of the BAN-PT Executive Board Number 4287/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.P/S/X/2023, dated October 17, 2023. In 2025, the Bachelor’s Statistics Study Program underwent its first formal accreditation process and was granted accreditation by the Independent Accreditation Agency for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA), as stipulated in Decree Number 200/SK/LAMSAMA/Akred/S/VII/2025.
